Ally immigrated to Canada 8 months ago. These photographs were taken in the 3 years leading up to that move. In his words, "This body of work is dedicated to those who have been forced to call an unfamiliar place home, be it spatial or emotional."
In Nunavut there is space and time to feel smaller than your ego. Love them or hate them you get to know your neighbours. The towns are filled with life and activity as honest and real as the landscape they are carved into. With every camp stove story, every icy sunset, every howling dog team my love for this place grows and I excitedly wait for the next adventure to begin.
