From Here & Away is partnering with the non profit, environmental education and wilderness conservation group, FortWhyte Alive, to offer an exciting and inclusive photography workshop for all skill levels and walks of life.
The series is divided into two parts. August 2nd will be "on land" and August 9th will be "on water." We will explore the lesser known areas of Fort Whyte and end off with a bonfire at a secret area on the site. Along the way we will discuss different techniques and tips to help you "see" the landscape and interpret it in your own way.
We wanted to create a series that would allow people to explore nature and photography simultaneously in a friendly and fun environment. Maybe you've never picked up a camera, or sat in a canoe. Or maybe you shoot professionally and paddle white water every weekend. That stuff doesn't matter, this is for everyone.
This is all about sharing ideas, inspiration and technical tips that will make you inspired to continue to explore and create. If you only have an iPhone, that's fine! If you shoot medium format film, that's fine! Anything goes.
I will be there to help anyone or discuss anything photography related, but my hope is that we all end up helping each other.
Fees are $20 for the entire series for members and $25 for non members. We are limiting this to 20 people each time so please sign up in advance to reserve your spot at www.fortwhyte.org. Or by contacting me directly.
I'm really excited for this. Hope you all can make it!
