HomeFree is a collection of photographs and interviews that are meant to be a friendly invitation for us to re-imagine how we think about Manitoba, and to see all the wild and beautiful secrets contained in this province. Official Launch Novemeber 9.
From visiting the Bison herd before dawn, to sunset on a secluded lake, to sneaking into an abandoned barn, to hiking to Bald Hill (best view in Manitoba) to seeing a moose, a herd of elk, and a super cute beaver swimming around, to waking up at 4:15 to catch the milky way, we had a busy couple of days in the park.
From Here & Away is partnering with Clear Lake Country to offer the opportunity to win a 2-day, photography trip to Riding Mountain National Park where you will explore the park alongside professional photographers Joseph Visser and Austin Mackay and enjoy free accommodations at Lakehouse and Elkorn Resorts.
it has now been about 2 and a half weeks, and the image of what my trip would be has already been shattered. To fully experience Asia, you need all your senses. The smells of dust, street food, and sewage. The sounds of honking horns and interesting languages. The feeling of humid air and cramped busses. The sights of gold-gilded pagodas and turquoise oceans. When I was planning my trip, I could hardly experience one of these senses. What I thought my trip would be was only one side of a six-sided cube.
In Nunavut there is space and time to feel smaller than your ego. Love them or hate them you get to know your neighbours. The towns are filled with life and activity as honest and real as the landscape they are carved into. With every camp stove story, every icy sunset, every howling dog team my love for this place grows and I excitedly wait for the next adventure to begin.
Without skateboarding, photography wouldn’t exist for me. Since I was a young guy growing up with skateboarding in the late 90’s early 2000’s I relied heavily on Magazines for my content. I didn’t have the instant access that we do now. This made me really look at the content in the mags. I fell in love with the photos. There was something about the way these photographers would capture skateboarding & its lifestyle. That all just jumped off the pages for me.
