HomeFree is a collection of photographs and interviews that are meant to be a friendly invitation for us to re-imagine how we think about Manitoba, and to see all the wild and beautiful secrets contained in this province. Official Launch Novemeber 9.
FH&A team members Ally Gonzalo and Joseph Visser had the pleasure of attending the third annual interstellar rodeo, just a stones throw away from our shop at The Forks. Our focus was on capturing the vibe of the festival from a community based, attendee perspective, rather than just a taking bunch of concert photos.
Mielen Remmert is a Winnipeg based artist with a knack for illustration. Her new photobook Eunoia is simple, elegant and the photos are stunning. We wanted to hear about her book so we did a little interview with her. The book is a collection of photos from her time trekking in Iceland and we are releasing it at the From Here & Away shop at The Forks on August 16th.
The cool thing about photography is that it doesn't require pre-existing skill or perfection to promote personal and creative growth. We love putting cameras into the hands of kids, bringing them into both new and familiar environments and letting their voices come through the images that they make.
We are excited to announce a call for submissions for the new (mini) FH&A gallery at Thom Bargen Downtown......
This season’s theme is “water.” Coffee is technically around 99% water. Thom Bargen is a coffee shop. We thought it would be an appropriate first theme. Please get creative and bend the rules of this theme.
From Here & Away is pleased to announce our Made in Canada collection.
This is very much a winter collection, from our signature “campfire” hooded sweatshirts, to merino wool toques, this collection is built to keep you warm and comfortable during the coldest months.
The Analog Wolf is also featured prominently in this collection.
From visiting the Bison herd before dawn, to sunset on a secluded lake, to sneaking into an abandoned barn, to hiking to Bald Hill (best view in Manitoba) to seeing a moose, a herd of elk, and a super cute beaver swimming around, to waking up at 4:15 to catch the milky way, we had a busy couple of days in the park.
